Two-time Tony Award nominee Christopher Sieber (Shrek) will join the cast of Pippin in the role of King Charlemagne for 16 performances while Tony nominee Terrence Mann is on vacation. Sieber will step in for performances from Sunday, September 1 through Wednesday, September 4, and Sunday, September 15 through Wednesday, September 25. Winner of the 2013 Tony Award for Best Revival of a Musical, Pippin is currently running at the Music Box Theatre, melding Stephen Schwartz and Roger O. Hirson’s classic coming-of-age musical with the death-defying tricks of contemporary circus. The production is directed by Diane Paulus and choreographed by Chet Walker in the style of Bob Fosse, and features circus creations by Gypsy Snider of Les 7 doigts de la main. Sieber will be joining a cast starring Tony winner Patina Miller, Tony Award winner Andrea Martin, Matthew James Thomas, Tony nominee Charlotte d’Amboise, Rachel Bay Jones, and Erik Altemus.
