The Book of Mormon — Trey Parker, Matt Stone, and Robert Lopez’s Tony Award-winning musical about a pair of Mormon missionaries who get more than they bargain for when they’re sent to AIDS-ravaged Uganda — celebrated its 1,000th performance at Broadway’s Eugene O’Neill Theatre on Saturday, August 17. To mark the milestone, the cast, led by Matt Doyle, Cody Jamison Strand, and Asmeret Ghebremichael, was treated to cupcakes from the New Jersey baker Sugarush in the shape of the number “1000” after the matinée performance. Here’s to the next thousand, Book of Mormon!
