The Irish Repertory Theatre has announced details for its fall 2012 performances, which are part of the company's 25th anniversary season.

Ciarán O'Reilly will direct Brian Friel's The Freedom of the City, October 3-November 25, with an opening on October 14. Set in Northern Ireland during the aftermath of a civil rights meeting, the play revolves around an inquiry into the shooting by British soldiers of three marchers at a peaceful protest. The production will have set design by Charlie Corcoran, costume design by David Toser, sound design by Ryan Rumery, and lighting design by Michael Gottlieb.

Stage and screen star Julian Sands will perform his solo, A Celebration of Harold Pinter, directed by Academy Award-nominee John Malkovich, October 10-November 4, with an opening on October 16. In the piece, Sands combines Pinter's poems and political prose along with personal anecdotes and reflections drawn from their work together.

Irish musician Phil Coulter brings The Songs I Love So Well to Irish Rep, November 29-December 30, with an opening on December 9. He will be presenting some of his best loved, and most personal compositions and folk songs, including "My Boy," "Home from the Sea," "The Man from God Knows Where," "Keep a Candle in the Window," and "The Town I Loved So Well," about his childhood in Derry, Northern Ireland.
