Keen Company to Present Stephen Sondheim’s Marry Me A Little and A.R. Gurney’s The Old Boy

The Drama Desk-winning Keen Company will present a new production of Marry Me A Little, with music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim, conceived by Craig Lucas and Norman René, and a newly revised version of A.R. Gurney’s 1991 play, The Old Boy as part of its 2012-2013 season at the Clurman Theatre at Theatre Row.


Marry Me A Little, to run September 11-October 21, will be directed by the Jonathan Silverstein. The show uses lesser-known Sondheim songs as it tells the the story of two single strangers, left alone in their studio apartments on a Saturday night, The musical features such songs as “Bang!,” “Silly People,” “Can That Boy Foxtrot!,” “All Things Bright and Beautiful,” “Uptown, Downtown,” and “There Won’t Be Trumpets”


Silverstein will also direct The Old Boy, which begins on February 12, and tells the story of a successful politician who faces the demons of his past while wrestling with his conscience and the “old boy” network which has served him so well.


Casting and creative teams will be announced at a later date.
