The actor will play Mance Rayder, the King Beyond the Wall, who has united the clans of the Far North to attack The Wall.

Hines' stage credits include Closer and The Seafarer, among many others. His film and television credits include Political Animals, Rome, In Bruges, Oscar and Lucinda, Road to Perdition, and There Will Be Blood.

The series is based on George R. R. Martin's Song of Ice and Fire series of fantasy novels, which chronicle the dynastic conflicts among several families on the mythical continent of Westeros.
