New Georges and the Irondale Center will present the world premiere of Kara Lee Corthron’s AliceGraceAnon, running October 18-November 9 under the direction of Kara-Lynn Vaeni.

An imaginary interaction between Lewis Carroll’s Alice (of Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland), Jefferson Airplane singer Grace Slick (whose 1967 hit “White Rabbit” was inspired by Caroll’s story), and the anonymous diarist in seminal 1971 novel Go Ask Alice (the title of which was inspired by “White Rabbit”), the production will feature an interactive exhibition, soundscapes, and live video.

AliceGraceAnon will feature Carolyn Baeumler, Eric Clem, Matt Dellapina, Teresa Avia Lim, and Christina Pumariega. The production will also feature the 10-member Spectacle Brigade chorus, a live band playing the role of Jefferson Airplane, and assorted special musician guests.

The creative team includes Ralph Capasso (musical direction), Nick Francone (scenic design), Liam O’Brien (costume design), Jeanette Oi-Suk Yew (lighting design), Marcelo Añez (sound design), and Rachel Schapira (installation design).
