John Logan’s Genius Will Be Filmed; Sean Penn in Talks to Star

Genius, a new film about legendary editor Maxwell Perkins written by Tony Award winner John Logan, will be produced and directed by Bill Pohlad, according to The Hollywood Reporter, which also says that two-time Academy Award winner Sean Penn is in talks to play Perkins.

Logan won the 2010 Tony Award for his play Red and is also the author of Never the Sinner: The Leopold and Loeb Story.

Logan received Oscar nominations for the screenplays for The Aviator and Gladiator. He also wrote the screenplay for the film version of Sweeney Todd and is currently working on the HBO pilot The Miraculous Year.
