2010 MITF Award Nominations Announced

The Midtown International Theatre Festival (MITF) has announced the nominees for the MITF Eleventh Annual Season Awards. The awards will be presented at a ceremony to be held at New World Stages on Thursday, September 9, at 8pm.

Outstanding Production of a Play nominees include Can I Really Date a Guy Who Wears a Yarmulke?, Closure, In Our Own Image, Screenplay, The Starship Astrov, and The Tragedie of Cardenio. Outstanding Production of a Musical nominees include 10 Reasons I Won’t Go Home with You, Civil War Voices, Conspiracy, Lovers, and Most Likely To: The Senior Superlative Musical.

Nominated lead actors include Frankie Alvarez (The Tragedie of Cardenio), Walter Brandes (The Starship Astrov), Jason Liebman (Can I Really Date a Guy Who Wears a Yarmulke?), Jonathan Sale (Screenplay), Josh Sauerman (Prevailing Wins), Cindy Blevins (Love Me Tinder), Elizabeth Davis (The Starship Astrov), Olivia Horton (Literary Disruption), Catherine LeFrere (Can I Really Date a Guy Who Wears a Yarmulke?), Gabby Sherba (Merrily, Merrily, Merrily), April Woodall (Gray Matters), Mark Cajigao (Conspiracy: A Love Story), Stephen Hope (Civil War Voices), Eddie Schnecker (Conspiracy: A Love Story), Ryan Stadler (10 Reasons I Won’t Go Home with You), Will Taylor (Lovers), Amanda Castanos (Most Likely To: The Senior Superlative Musical), Danielle Lee Greaves (Civil War Voices), Courtney Hammond (Lovers), Elaine Moran (Conspiracy: A Love Story), Kelly Nichols (10 Reasons I Won’t Go Home with You), and Jesse Zeidman in Most Likely To: The Senior Superlative Musical.

The awards ceremony will feature entertainment by 2010 Season shows, including scenes from Can I Really Date A Guy Who Wears A Yarmulke? and Screenplay; and musical numbers from Civil War Voices, Most Likely To: The Senior Superlative Musical, and Ten Reasons I Won’t Go Home With You, among others.
