Grey Gardens, Mad Men, True Blood, et al. Win TCA Awards

The 25th Annual Television Critics Association Awards were handed out on Saturday, August 1 in California, in a ceremony hosted by Chelsea Handler.

The Outstanding Movie, Miniseries or Special Award was given to HBO’s Grey Gardens, starring Jessica Lange and Drew Barrymore, and Outstanding New Program was awarded to HBO’s True Blood, which features stage veterans Anna Paquin and Anna Camp.

Program of the Year went to Syfy’s Battlestar Galactica; AMC’s Mad Men was named Outstanding Drama; CBS’ The Big Bang Theory was named Outstanding Comedy (and its star, Jim Parsons, won the Individual Achievement in Comedy Award); and NBC’s ER was given the Heritage Award.
