Broadway’s Zachary James to Star in Metropolis Opera Project’s Il Sogno

Zachary James, who will play Lurch in the upcoming Broadway musical The Addams Family, will star in the Metropolis Opera Project’s mounting of Kristin Hevner’s chamber opera, Il Sogno, at the Medicine Show Theatre, September 25-27. The work follows the characters of Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream as their stories entangle in an enchanted city.

In 2010, MOP will present its first annul One Act Festival, which will include works by Hevner, Arnold Schonberg, Jacques Offenbach, and Cesar Cui, as well as an evening devoted to the works of new composers, including Bryan Putnam, Larry Lees, and Ryan Gagnon. Singers who scheduled to perform with the company this season include Martin Sola, Kevin Greene, and Jendi Tarde.
