Cerveris, DeHaas, Pinsky, Woods Set for Lyrics by W. Shakespeare

Michael Cerveris, Darius DeHaas, and Carol Woods will perform at the The Shakespeare Society’s Lyrics by W. Shakespeare, September 15, alongside former U.S. Poet Laureate Robert Pinsky.

Pinsky will guide the audience through some of Shakespeare’s finest lyrics, set to music by the likes of Thomas Arne, Vaughan Williams, Duke Ellington, and Stephen Sondheim.

Pinsky was the United States Poet Laureate for an unprecedented three terms. He was that poetry editor for the online magazine Slate for seven years, and is a contributor for the Washington Post and The New Yorker among others. He founded the Favorite Poem Project, and his books include The Figured Wheel: New and Collected Poems 1966-1996, First Things to Hand, Gulf Music, Poetry and the World, The Sounds of Poetry, and Democracy, Culture and the Voice of Poetry.
