The full line-up for the 2008 Walgreens Broadway in Chicago Season has been announced. All shows will take place at the Cadillac Palace Theatre.

First up is the national tour of My Fair Lady, to play January 22-February 3. The show will star Christopher Cazenove as Henry Higgins, Lisa O’Hare as Eliza Doolittle, Tim Jerome as Alfred P. Doolittle, and Walter Charles as Colonel Pickering. Marni Nixon, who voiced the role of Eliza for the Oscar-winning 1964 film version, will take over the role of Mrs. Higgins from Sally Ann Howes with this stop on the tour.

Next up will be the national tour of The Drowsy Chaperone, April 1-13, starring Jonathan Crombie, Nancy Opel, and Georgia Engel. It will be followed by the national tour of Sweeney Todd, starring Judy Kaye and David Hess, April 23-May 4, and the national tour of Avenue Q, to run May 21-June 7.

The season will conclude with the U.S. premiere of Dirty Dancing – The Classic Story on Stage, beginning on September 2. Based on the movie of the same name, the musical is penned by screenwriter Eleanor Bergstein and directed by James Powell. It tells the story of Frances “Baby” Houseman, a doctor’s daughter, who falls for Johnny Castle, a talented, headstrong dancer from the wrong side of the tracks. The show will begin a national tour after the completion of the Chicago engagement.
