Sarah Uriarte Berry, Rick Hilsabeck, Burke Moses, and Michele Ragusa will star in the American Musical Theatre of San Jose’s production of the classic musical Guys and Dolls, October 9-21. The production will be directed by Stephen Bourneuf, with choreography by Vince Pesce.

Based on the short stories of Damon Runyon, the show features a book by Jo Swerling and Abe Burrows and a score by Frank Loesser. It focuses on a unique wager between gamblers Sky Masterson (Moses) and Nathan Detroit (Hilsabeck), which involves the virtuous Sarah Brown (Berry) and almost topples Detroit’s long relationship with nightclub singer Miss Adelaide (Ragusa).

The supporting cast features Noel Anthony (Benny Southstreet), Nathan Armstrong, Lindsey Bracco, Anne Buelteman (General Matilda B. Cartwright), Joven Calloway, Jeremiah B. Clauss, Joshua Ekblom, Sean Grady, Rob Hatzenbeller (Harry the Horse), Matthew Brandon Hutchens, Erica Rose Jeffrey, Travis Kelley, Dirk Leatherman (Lt. Brannigan), Garrick Goce Macatangay, Melody McArtor, Melinda Meeng, Randy Nazarian (Big Jule), Brittany Ogle, Keith Parks, Stephen Pawley (Arvide Abernathy), Allison Poccia, Donna Rapa-Olsen, Melissa Reinard, Roland Rusinek (Nicely-Nicely Johnson), and Colin Thomson (Rusty Charlie).

The creative team includes William Liberatore (music direction), Tony Walton (sets), Tommy Marquez (costumes), Karen Spahn (lighting), and Hage Van Dijk (sound).

Berry’s Broadway credits include The Light in the Piazza, Taboo, and Beauty and the Beast. Hilsabeck appeared on Broadway in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and recently completed a run in the Westchester Broadway Theatre production of Gypsy. Moses played the role of Sky in the 1995 Broadway revival of Guys and Dolls; his other Broadway credits include The Frogs, Kiss Me, Kate, and Beauty and the Beast. Ragusa received the Barrymore Award for Adrift in Macao. She’s also appeared on Broadway in Urinetown, A Class Act, and Ragtime.
