Danieley, D’Arcy James, Kind, Mazzie, Wopat Set for Shakespeare on Broadway

Broadway stars Jason Danieley, Brian D’Arcy James, Richard Kind, Marin Mazzie, and Tom Wopat will star in The Shakespeare Society’s special event Shakespeare on Broadway at 6:30pm on Monday, September 25 at The Kaye Playhouse at Hunter College (Park Avenue at 68th Street).

The 90-minute show will focus on songs from such popular musicals, based on Shakespeare’s plays, as The Boys from Syracuse, Kiss Me, Kate, and West Side Story. In addition Tony Award-winning director Jack O’Brien (Hairspray, Henry IV) will provide commentary as scenes and speeches from the Bard’s plays are performed, including The Comedy of Errors, The Taming of the Shrew, and Romeo and Juliet.

Danieley is currently starring in Curtains in Los Angeles. D’Arcy James and Kind are finishing up their run on Broadway in Dirty Rotten Scoundrels. Mazzie, who is married to Danieley, will join the Broadway hit Monty Python’s Spamalot in October. Wopat’s Broadway credits include City of Angels, Chicago, and 42nd Street.
