Why not spice up your lunch with a little Amour this Thursday? On August 22 at 12:30pm, Malcolm Gets, Melissa Errico, and the cast of the Broadway bound Amour will give a half-hour concert in Battery Park, singing highlights from the romantic musical comedy.

Following that performance, the show's composer, Michel LeGrand, will play some of his film hits, including "The Summer Knows" from Summer of '42, "Papa Can You Hear Me?" from Yentl, and "I Will Wait For You" from The Umbrellas of Cherbourg.

This mini-concert will mark the very first preview of material from the American version of Amour, which was adapted by Jeremy Sams from Didier van Cauwelaert's French libretto based on the magical Marcel Ayme short story about a man who learns to walk through walls and discovers love. James Lapine directs this production, which will officially open on Broadway on October 20.

Of the concert, producer Gerald Schoenfeld said, "The Amour event in Battery Park may be the first in a series of mini-concerts under the banner Broadway Goes Downtown. We are delivering the message to theatergoers that Broadway is alive and well. The theatrical community looks forward to our downtown friends joining us to celebrate the start of a wonderful new season on Broadway."
