Michael Cumpsty and Alessandro Nivola to Join Roger Rees in The Winslow Boy

The full cast of Roundabout Theatre Company’s production of the Terence Rattigan play has been announced.

Roundabout Theatre Company has announced that Tony nominee Michael Cumpsty (End of the Rainbow), Alessandro Nivola (A Month in the Country), Zachary Booth (The Mound Builders), Spencer Davis Milford (Billy Elliot national tour), Chandler Williams (In the Next Room…or the vibrator play), Meredith Forlenza (A Behanding in Spokane), Stephen Pilkington (One Man, Two Guvnors), and Henny Russell (The Other Place) will join the previously announced Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio (Man of La Mancha) and Roger Rees (The Life and Adventures of Nicholas Nickleby) in Terence Rattigan’s The Winslow Boy. The production will run September 20-December 1, with an official opening on October 17.

Based on a true story, The Winslow Boy is the story of one man’s fight to clear his son’s name after he is expelled from Osbourne Naval College for stealing a five-shilling postal order. The play was last seen on Broadway in 1948, and has been made into two films.

Lindsay Poster will direct. The creative team includes set and costume design by Peter McKintosh, lighting design by David
Lander, and sound design by Drew Levy.
