The Heiress to Play Broadway’s Walter Kerr Theatre; Judith Ivey Joins Cast

The upcoming Broadway revival of Ruth & Augustus Goetz’s The Heiress will run at the Walter Kerr Theatre, October 7-February 10, with an official opening on November 1. Moisés Kaufman will direct the production.

In addition, it has been announced that two-time Tony Award winner Judith Ivey will play the role of Aunt Penniman. As previously reported, the production stars Jessica Chastain as Catherine Sloper,
Dan Stevens as Morris Townsend, and David Strathairn as Dr. Austin Sloper.

The design team includes Derek McLane (sets), Albert Wolsky (costumes), David Lander (lighting), Peter Golub (original music), and Leon Rothenberg (sound).


Ivey won Tony Awards for her work in Steaming and Hurlyburly, and her many theater credits include Follies, The Glass Menagerie, A Little Night Music, and The Lady With All the Answers. Her many film and television credits include Washington Square, Designing Women, Nurse Jackie, and Grey’s Anatomy.
