Legendary baseball player and former New York Yankees manager Joe Torre attended the July 3 performance of Broadway's Newsies at the Nederlander Theatre.
Following the performance, Torre met with star Jeremy Jordan and allowed him to try on his World Series ring.
Newsies, with music by Alan Menken, lyrics by Jack Feldman, and a book by Harvey Fierstein, tells the story of Jack Kelly (played by Jordan), a charismatic newsboy and leader of a ragged band of teenaged 'newsies,' who dreams only of a better life far from the hardship of the streets.
