Jersey Boys to Open in Auckland, New Zealand in April 2012

Jersey Boys will open at The Civic in Auckland, New Zealand in April 2012. Performance dates, casting and ticketing information will be announced shortly.

The musical is based on the life story of Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons, and chronicles the lives of a group of blue-collar boys from the wrong side of the tracks who became one of the biggest American pop music sensations of all time.

With book by Academy Award-winner Marshall Brickman and Rick Elice, Jersey Boys features dozens of the group’s popular hits, including “Walk Like a Man,” “Sherry,” “Big Girls Don’t Cry,” “Oh What a Night,” and “Can’t Take My Eyes Off of You.”

Jersey Boys opened in Melbourne in July 2009 and played for 13 months before transferring to Sydney’s Theatre Royal, opening in September 2010. Over 1,000,000 people will have seen the show in Melbourne and Sydney by the end of the year before it moves to Auckland.
