Arian Moayed, Michele Pawk, Sarah Ruhl, et al. Set for Epic Theatre Ensemble’s 2009-2010 season

Epic Theatre Ensemble has announced production details for its 2009-2010 season, which will open with the world premiere of Mahida’s Extra Key To Heaven by Russell Davis, September 16-October 11, with an opening set for September 26. The play is a love story about crossing human and political borders in this time of unyielding violence. Will Pomerantz will direct a cast that includes Tony Award winner Michele Pawk, Roxanna Hope, Arian Moayed, and James Wallert.

In the Spring, Epic will present the New York premiere of Sarah Ruhl’s Passion Play at the Irondale Center in the spring of 2010. Mark Wing-Davey will direct this site-specific production, inspired by the historic festivals where everyday citizens came together to elevate their communities by staging the life and death of Christ.

The season will also include Shakespeare Remix MacBeth, a collaboration with Epic’s After School Shakespeare Program at Chelsea High School. Melissa Friedman will direct the production in the Winter of 2010.
