Bernhard, Daisey, Lemper, Mitchell, Stew, et al. Set for Joe’s Pub 10th Anniversary Season

Joe’s Pub has announced a partial line-up for its 10th anniversary season, which will feature 300 shows from September through December.

Events will include Mike Daisey’s solo show If You See Something Say Something, which is part of the Public Theater’s 2008-09 season; Doug Elkins’ Fraulein Maria (December 3-13); Soledad Barrio & Noche Flamenca (December 26-31); Sandra Bernhard (December 26-30); The Country Music Association Songwriters Series (September 9, October 29-30); and Ute Lemper in Pirate Jenny Comes Back (November 14-29).

Downtown impresario Earl Dax will celebrate his own five-year anniversary as an independent curator and producer with FIVE for FIVE: Celebrating TEN!. Acts will include Mike Albo and Marga Gomez in Mike and Marga, Karen Finley’s Impulse to Suck, The Stew Songbook featuring Passing Strange‘s Stew and Heidi Rodewald, John Cameron Mitchell, Taylor Mac, Penny Arcade, and two shows soon to be announced.

In addition, Joe’s Pub will host productions that are part of the “Celebrate Mexico Now” festival, as well as performances by Luminescent Orchestrii, Sista Factory, Jamie McGonnigal, Michael John LaChuisa, The Duhks, Steve Forbert, Mike Viola, Josh Rouse, Raul Midon, Vishal Vaid, Gilberto Gil, The Plastic People of the Universe, Rachel Yamagata, Little Cow, Carmen Consoli, Erin McKeown, Susie Ibarra & Robert Rodriguez, The Loser’s Lounge, Bitch and Ferron, Chris Smither, Keren Ann with Avishai Cohen, Jim White, Billy Porter, Allen Toussaint, Toshi Reagon, and Jackie Hoffman.

The anniversary celebration will also include “10 for the 10th,” a series of ten free shows over the course of one weekend in October showcasing the depth and variety of performances that have made Joe’s Pub the premier venue for live music in New York City. Sh-K-Boom/Ghostlight will present a weekly concert series every Monday night at 11:30 pm. The label will offer concerts featuring Broadway performers and composers, The Midnight Musicals with concert versions of new and developing productions, and more. The “Artists in Conversation” series will feature musicians, writers, actors, directors, and visual artists.
