Principal Casting Set for Australian Spamalot

Principal casting has been announced for the Australian production of the hit musical Monty Python's Spamalot, which will begin previews at Melbourne's Her Majesty's Theatre on November 20, with an official opening set for December 1.

The show will star Billie Brown as King Arthur, Lucinda Shaw as the Lady of the Lake, Ben Lewis as Sir Dennis Galahad, Stephen Hall as Sir Lancelot, Derek Metzger as Patsy, Jason Langley as Sir Robin, Mark Conaghan as Prince Herbert, and David Whitney as Sir Bedevere.

The show, based on the movie Monty Python and the Holy Grail, features a book and lyrics by Eric Idle and music by John DuPrez. It is directed by Mike Nichols, and choreographed by Casey Nicholaw. There are currently productions of Spamalot on Broadway, in Las Vegas, and in London. The show won the 2005 Tony Award for Best Musical.
