Actor/playwright Eric Bogosian will join the cast of the NBC series Law & Order: Criminal Intent this fall as the head of the NYPD’s Major Case Squad, according to published reports. Bogosian is one of three new cast members this fall. He joins Julianne Nicholson, who will play Detective Megan Wheeler, and Nona Gaye, who will play ADA Patricia Kent. The show will continue to star Vincent D’Onofrio, Chris Noth, and Kathryn Erbe; Anabella Sciorra and Courtney B. Vance have left the series.

Bogosian’s plays include Talk Radio, Drinking in America, Sex, Drugs & Rock n’ Roll, and Pounding Nails on the Floor, for which he won an Obie Award. His 1994 play subUrbia will be revived this fall by Second Stage in a production directed by his wife, Jo Bonney.

As an actor, he co-starred in the LAByrnith Theatre production of The Last Days of Judas Iscariot. His many film and television credits include the 1988 TV remake of The Caine Mutiny Court-Martial, The Substance of Fire, Heights, and Love Monkey.
