Coster, Emery, Gross, Lagerfelt, Pankow, Rauch, et al. Set for The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie

Richie Coster, Lisa Emery, Halley Wegryn Gross, Caroline Lagerfelt, John Pankow, and Matthew Rauch will join previously announced star Cynthia Nixon in the New Group’s production of Jay Presson Allen’s The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie this fall. The show, to be directed by Scott Elliott, will play at Theatre Row. Dates have yet to be announced.

The cast will also feature Emily Bicks, Betsy Hogg, Zoe Kazan, Caity Quinn, and Sarah Steele. Nixon, who won the Tony Award this year as Best Actress in a Play for Rabbit Hole, will play the title role, a tough Scottish schoolteacher.

Coster, who will play Teddy Lloyd, was seen earlier this year in Beauty of the Father. Emery, who will play Miss Mackay, starred this year in the New Group’s production of Abigail’s Party. Gross, who will play Jenny, co-starred in the New Group’s production of Hurlyburly. Lagerfelt, who will play Sister Helena, starred on Broadway in The Real Thing. Pankow, who will play Gordon Lowther, last starred on Broadway in Twelve Angry Men and is best known for the TV series Mad About You. Rauch, who will play Mr. Perry, has been seen Off-Broadway in The Revenger’s Tragedy and Book of Days.
