The York Theatre Company will sponsor a special performance of the musical Thrill Me: The Leopold & Loeb Story on Monday, July 25, at 8pm to benefit Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS.

The show, which focuses on the twisted relationship between the infamous early 20th century child killers, stars its author/composer Stephen Dolginoff as Nathan Leopold and Doug Kreeger as Richard Loeb. Michael Rupert, the Tony Award-winning actor, directs the production.

In addition, the York has added two post-show talkbacks. Following the 5pm performance of Thrill Me on Saturday, July 23, author Laura Kipnis will discuss the media’s fascination with toxic relationships and how our desire for fidelity can be at odds with personal freedoms. Following the 8pm performance on Thursday, July 28, the nationally known author Hal Higdon will present a discussion entitled “The Crime of the Century.”

In related news, Doug Kreeger will appear next month in Swimming Upstream, a new musical by the father-son team of Marshall and Al Pailet that will be part of the New York International Fringe Festival. His co-stars include Jessica Snow Wilson, Matt Owen, Christopher Kale Jones, and Heath Calvert.
