Sherie Rene Scott has told TheaterMania.com she will star in Signature Theater’s production of John Guare’s Landscape of the Body, which is scheduled to begin performances in New York in February 2006.

Scott previously starred as Rosalie in a 2003 production of the play at the Williamstown Theater Festival opposite Lili Taylor. It was directed by Tony Award-winner Michael Greif, who is set to helm this production as well. Signature would not confirm Scott’s casting.

Scott is currently appearing as Christine Colgate in Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, for which she received Tony, Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle nominations for Best Actress in a Musical. Her other stage credits include Aida, Rent, Debbie Does Dallas, and The Last 5 Years.

Signature’s 15th Anniversary season, which will last for 20 months, will begin in November 2005 with a production of Horton Foote’s The Trip to Bountiful, directed by Harris Yulin. In Spring 2006, the company will present a staged reading of a new adaptation of Madame Bovary by Adrienne Kennedy.

From September 2006 through April 2007, Signature will present works by Pulitzer Prize winner August Wilson, including a revival of Two Trains Running, the New York premiere of his solo piece How I Learned What I Learned, a 10-day play-reading marathon of Wilson’s “20th Century Cycle,” and the world premiere of his newest play, which depicts a group of coffin makers on strike. For the entire 15th Anniversary Season, all seats will be $15, thanks in part to a gift made by Time Warner.
