Tony Award-winner Rosemary Harris will star in the American premiere production of Ariel Dorfman’s The Other Side at Manhattan Theater Club Stage I, beginning November 10. The production will be directed by Blanka Zizka, the co-artistic director of Philadelphia’s Wilma Theater.

In this unexpectedly comic work by Dorfman, the author of Death and the Maiden, a man and woman in a war-torn country pass their days identifying the casualties. When peace and a border guard arrive, their bleakly predictable world unravels.

The British-born Harris won a Tony Award as Best Actress in a Play for her portrayal of Eleanor in The Lion in Winter, and has been nominated for the Tony seven other times. Her many New York credits include A Delicate Balance, All Over, Hay Fever, The Royal Family, and A Streetcar Named Desire. She received an Academy Award nomination for her work in Tom & Viv, and has been seen in the popular Spiderman films. She is also the mother of Tony Award-winning actress Jennifer Ehle.

Zizka, a multiple winner of the prestigious Barrymore Award, has directed over 50 plays and musicals for the Wilma, including Jesus Hopped the ‘A’ Train, Red, and Quills. She directed the world premiere of Dael Orlandersmith’s Yellowman at the Manhattan Theatre Club, as well as many of the play’s regional productions.
