Margaret Colin, John Lavelle, Aasif Mandvi, Michael McKean, and Brenda Wehrle will head the cast of Tom Stoppard’s On The Razzle, which is set for an August 3-13 run at the Williamstown Theater Festival. David Jones, the former artistic director of the Royal Shakespeare Company, will direct the production.

Stoppard’s comedy is freely adapted from the Austrian playwright Johann Nestroy’s Einen Jux will er sich machen, which also inspired Thornton Wilder’s The Matchmaker. It concerns two store clerks have madcap adventures while their boss is away. The cast of the Williamstown production also includes Corey Brill, Derek Lucci, Cynthia Mace, Kevin McClarnon, Michael McKean, Sandra Shipley, Robert Stanton, and Chandler Williams. The design team consists of Neil Patel (sets), Ilona Somogyi (costumes), Frances Aronson (lighting), and Todd Campbell (sound).

Colin’s Broadway credits include Jackie and A Day in the Death of Joe Egg. Lavelle played Benjamin Braddock in the Broadway production of The Graduate. Mandvi played Ali Hakim in the 2002 Broadway revival of Oklahoma!. McKean starred as Edna Turnblad in the Broadway production of Hairspray. Wehrle won an Obie Award for her performance in Talking Heads.

In addition to his work for the RSC, Jones directed the Broadway productions of No Man’s Land, Taking Sides, and The Caretaker, and the film versions of Betrayal and 84 Charing Cross Road.
