Broadway Understudies Will Sing at Ars Nova on July 25

Performers from some of the Great White Way’s hottest musicals will participate in Broadway Spotlight: The Third Annual Broadway Understudies Concert on Monday, July 25 at 8pm at the Ars NovaTheater (511 West 54th Street). The event will be hosted by Seth Rudetsky.

Singing signature songs from their productions will be Brad Anderson of All Shook Up, David Burnham of The Light in the Piazza, Rosena M. Hill of Monty Python’s Spamalot, and Laura Marie Duncan of Dirty Rotten Scoundrels. Also on the bill will be Todd Buonopane, Kate Wetherhead, Willis White, and Lisa Yuen of The 25th Annual Putnam Spelling Bee and Julie Barnes, Antonio D’Amato, and Jaclyn Neidenthals of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.

Other upcoming events this month at Ars Nova include Scott Capurro’s solo show Loaded, about his fascination with killer Erik Menendez (July 21-23), and a concert by the musical group GrooveLily on July 29. GrooveLily’s musical Striking 12 is expected to open Off-Broadway this fall, and the group is also writing the score for a new production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream that will play at both the Paper Mill Playhouse and the McCarter Theater next spring.
