Broadway Production of Syncopation Canceled
Syncopation, which won the American Theater Critics Award following its 1999 premiere at the Long Wharf Theater, is a comic drama about the unlikely romance between a meat packer and a seamstress in a turn-of-the-century Manhattan dance studio. The Broadway production was to have been directed by John Tillinger and choreographed by John O’Connell; the design team was to have included John Lee Beatty (sets), Catherine Zuber (costumes), Brian MacDevitt (lighting), and John Gromada (sound).
