"Broadway on Broadway" Concert Set for September 7

Preliminary information regarding the 12th annual “Broadway on Broadway” concert — the kick-off event of the new theater season, in which 50,000 spectators gather in Times Square for a free concert of numbers from current and upcoming shows — has been released.

The concert will be held on Sunday, September 7, beginning at 11:30am and will selections from such currently running shows as Hairspray, The Producers, Nine, Gypsy, Big River: The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, Avenue Q, Mamma Mia!, Thoroughly Modern Millie, Aida, Chicago, Cabaret, Rent, and The Phantom of the Opera, performed by the Broadway cast members. Upcoming shows to be represented include Wicked, Little Shop of Horrors, Taboo, Never Gonna Dance, Retreat From Moscow, Golda’s Balcony, and Oldest Living Confederate Widow Tells All.
