Charles Keating, Barbara Marineau, Sean McCourt, Katherine McGrath, and Patti Perkins have joined the cast of Lincoln Center Theater's upcoming world premiere production of A Man of No Importance, a new musical with book by Terrence McNally, music by Stephen Flaherty, and lyrics by Lynn Ahrens. The show will star Roger Rees in the title role and the cast also includes Ronn Carroll, Luther Creek, Michael McCormick, Jessica Molaskey, Martin Moran, Sally Murphy, Faith Prince, Roger Rees, and Brandon Wardell under the direction of Joe Mantello.

Based on the 1994 film of the same title and set in the mid 1960s, the musical concerns Alfie Byrne (Rees), a middle-aged Dublin bus conductor still living with his older sister (Prince) whose modest, quiet existence is spiced by his involvement with an amateur theatrical group. When Alfie's plan to produce Oscar Wilde's Salome earns the disapproval of church authorities, events lead to something of an epiphany for him.

A Man of No Importance will have musical staging by Jonathan Butterell, musical direction by Ted Sperling, sets by Loy Arcenas, costumes by Jane Greenwood, lighting by Donald Holder, sound by Scott Lehrer, and orchestrations by William David Brohn and Christopher Jahnke. The show begins previews on September 12; it will open officially on October 10 and run through December 29 at LCT's Mitzi E. Newhouse Theater.
