Page 73 Productions is set to present a developmental workshop of Carlos Murillo’s A Thick Description of Harry Smith (Volume I) as its first Page 2 presentation of 2012, with performances June 28-July 2 at Culture Project. Kip Fagan will direct. Musical direction will be by Lucas Papaelias.
A Thick Description of Harry Smith (Volume I) is a ride through the life, work, and times of filmmaker, musicologist, painter, anthropologist, collector, occultist, and fabulist Harry Everett Smith.
The cast will feature Papaelias, along with Kate Ferber, Birgit Huppuch, Joe Jung, Sean Patrick Reilly, Chris Sullivan, and Joe Tippett.
The design team will include Daniel Kluger (sound design), Jessica Pabst (costume design), and Seth Reiser (sets and lighting design).
Page 73 Productions’ Page 2 provides significant resources to a playwright to work for several weeks with a director, actors, and designers and then to present their plays as works-in-progress to the public.
