The Kennedy Center and La Jolla Playhouse will present a re-imagined production of Henry Krieger and Bill Russell’s Side Show in 2013 and 2014, under the direction of Bill Condon.

The musical, which is based on the true story of conjoined twins Violet and Daisy Hilton, will first run at La Jolla in the fall of 2013, followed by a run at the Kennedy Center Eisenhower Theatre in June, 2014. The work will be revised by its authors prior to its debut.

Casting and additional details about the production are still to be announced.

Side Show opened on Broadway in 1997 and received four Tony Award nominations, including a shared nomination for its stars, Alice Ripley and Emily Skinner.
