Kerry Butler, Patina Miller, Christopher Sieber, et al. Featured on Out of Our Heads: The Music of Kooman and Dimond Album

Heidi Blickenstaff, Kerry Butler, Anderson Davis, Matt Doyle, Chris Mann, Kyle Dean Massey, Patina Miller, Christopher Sieber, Phoebe Strole, and Natalie Weiss will be featured on the new CD, Out of Our Heads: The Music of Kooman and Dimond, to be released for digital download on June 28. A concert celebrating the release of the recording will be held at Birdland on June 18.

The recording is a compilation of self-contained songs by composer Michael Kooman and lyricist Christopher Dimond that blur the lines between musical theater and pop. Songs on the disc include “Drift,” “The Temp and The Receptionist,” “Lucy’s Laugh,” “Beautiful Mistake,” “Random Black Girl,” and “Lost in the Waves,” as well as the title track.

The songwriting team’s musicals include Dani Girl, Golden Gate, Homemade Fusion, and Junior Claus.
