Playwrights Horizons has announced additional details for its 2009/2010 season, including the world premiere of Kia Corthron’s A Cool Dip in the Barren Saharan Crick, to be directed by Chay Yew. The play centers on an African preacher-in-training who is taken in by a family in the American South.

Eisa Davis, Glenn Fitzgerald, and Louis Cancelmi will join the previously announced Parker Posey for Melissa James Gibson’s This, to be directed by Obie Award winner Daniel Aukin. This unromantic comedy centers on a woman entering her forties.

Reed Birney, Peter Friedman, and Deirdre O’Connell will star in Annie Golden’s Circle Mirror Transformation, to be directed by Sam Gold. This new comedy concerns four lost New Englanders enrolled in a community drama class.

As previously announced, the season will also include Daniel Goldfarb’s The Retributionists (beginning previews August 21), to be directed by Leigh Silverman; Bruce Norris’ Clybourne Park, to be directed by Pam MacKinnon; and the new musical The Burnt Part Boys, co-produced by the Vineyard Theatre, and featuring music by Chris Miller, lyrics by Nathan Tysen, book by Mariana Elder, and direction by Erica Schmidt.
