Hunter Foster to Headline Guthrie’s The Government Inspector

Hunter Foster will play Hlestakov in Jeffrey Hatcher’s adaptation of Nikolai Gogol’s comedy The Government Inspector, to play the Guthrie Theatre, July 5-August 24. The production, which will open officially on July 11, will be directed by Joe Dowling.

The cast will include Peter Michael Goetz (Mayor Anton Antonovich), Raye Birk (the School Principal), Wayne A. Evenson (the Judge), Jim Lichtscheidl (the Postmaster), Stephen Pelinski (the Police Chief), Stephen Yoakam (the Hospital Director), Sally Wingert (Anna Andreyevna), Maggie Chestovich (Marya Antonovna), and Lee Mark Nelson and Kris L. Nelson (Dobchinsky and Bobchinsky).

The ensemble includes Matthew Amendt, Kate Eifrig, Hugh Kenned, Bill McCallum, Barbara June Patterson, Randy Reyes, Luverne Seifert, and Phyllis Wright.

The artistic team includes John Arnone (sets), Ann Hould-Ward (costumes), Christopher Akerlind (lighting), Adam Wernick (music composition), and Reid Rejsa (sound).
