Errico, Larsen, Nixon, Schneider, Tambor, York, et al. Set for Hollywood Bowl’s The Sound of Music

Melissa Errico, David Larsen, Marni Nixon, John Schneider, Jeffrey Tambor, and Rachel York will star in the Hollywood Bowl’s concert presentation of Rodgers & Hammerstein’s beloved musical The Sound of Music, July 28-30. The production will be directed by Gordon Hunt, with choreography by Kay Cole. John Mauceri will conduct the Hollywood Bowl orchestra.

The cast will also feature Andrea Bowen as Liesl, Ben Platt as Friedrich, Mary Catherine Hughes as Louisa, Andrew Hoeft as Kurt, Justine Dorsey as Brigitta, Emma Ashford as Marta, and Anza Seller as Gretl.

Errico, who will play Maria, has starred on Broadway in Amour, My Fair Lady, and Anna Karenina. Larsen, who will play Rolf, starred on Broadway in Good Vibrations and in the title role of Pippin at the Bay Street Theatre. Nixon, who will play the Mother Abbess, has a long list of stage credits, but is best known for providing the singing voice of Natalie Wood in the film version of West Side Story and Audrey Hepburn in the film version of My Fair Lady. Schneider, who will play Captain Von Trapp, starred on Broadway in Grand Hotel and is known for the TV shows The Dukes of Hazzard and Smallville. Tambor, who will play Max Detweiler, starred on Broadway in the 2005 revival of Glengarry Glen Ross. York, who will play Baroness Elsa Shraeder, recently completed a run as Christine Colgate in the Broadway musical Dirty Rotten Scoundrels.
