Kaufman Center to Present "Bound for Broadway IV"

The Kaufman Center will present the fourth annual “Bound for Broadway” concert at Merkin Concert Hall (129 West 67th Street, between Broadway and Amsterdam) on June 7 at 8pm. The event offers audiences a sneak preview of excerpts from new musical theater works. This year’s edition will be hosted by Liz Callaway.

The eight shows to be highlighted are as follows: Along the Way (Kristin Anderson-Lopez, Gregory Christopher, James-Allen Ford, Russell Kaplan, Karla Momberger, Sara Levine and Shawn Churchman); Children’s Letters to God (music by David Evans, lyrics by Douglas J. Cohen, book by Stuart Hample based on the book of the same title, compiled by Stuart Hample and Eric Marshall); The Opposite of Sex (music and lyrics by Douglas J. Cohen, book by Robert Jess Roth and Douglas J. Cohen, based on the screenplay by Don Roos); High Fidelity (lyrics by Amanda Green, music by Tom Kitt, based on the Stephen Frears/John Cusak film); was (book and lyrics by Barry Kleinbort, music by Joseph Thalken, based on the novel by Geoff Ryman); The Blue Flower (music, lyrics, and book by Jim Bauer with art, art direction and book by Ruth Bauer); Meet John Doe (music by Andrew Gerle, lyrics by Eddie Sugarman, book by Andrew Gerle and Eddie Sugarman, based on the film by Frank Capra); and Time After Time (book and lyrics by Stephen Cole, music by Jeffrey Saver, based on the screenplay by Nicholas Meyer).

Selections from these shows will be performed by a cast including Norbert Leo Butz, Greg Naughton, Jen Collela, Stephen Bogardus, Matthew Morrison, Kerry Butler, Jim Walton, Howard McGillin, David Pittu, Jen Chapin, Benjamin Schrader, Meghan McGeary, and Addison Timlin.
