Zachary Levi, best known for playing the title role in TV's Chuck, is set to make his Broadway debut in the new romantic musical comedy First Date, which will begin performances July 9 and open August 8 at Broadway's Longacre Theatre. Levi will star opposite Broadway favorite and Smash veteran Krysta Rodriguez (The Addams Family). Bill Berry will direct.

With a book by Austin Winsberg (Gossip Girl), music and lyrics by Alan Zachary and Michael Weiner (Secondhand Lions) and musical staging by Josh Rhodes (Rodgers & Hammerstein's Cinderella), First Date is the story of the initial meeting of uptight Aaron and serial-dater Casey. The two meet for a quick drink at a New York restaurant, and the audience watches as their hilarious dates unfolds in real time.

The show's cast will also include Sara Chase (The Toxic Avenger), Kristoffer Cusick (Wicked), Blake Hammond (Sister Act), Kate Loprest (Hairspray), and Vicki Noon (Wicked).

First Date will feature scenic and media design by David Gallo, costume design by David C. Woolard, lighting design by Mike Baldassari, sound design by Kai Harada, hair design by Josh Marquette, orchestrations by August Eriksmoen, and musical supervision, vocal, and incidental arrangements by Dominick Amendum.
