#serials@theflea to Begin Third Run on June 9 at The Flea Theater

The Flea Theater will offer a third installment of its #serials@theflea, to run Thursdays-Saturdays at 11pm, June 9-25, July 14-30, and August 11-20. Created by Bat company members Dominic Spillane and Stephen Stout, in collaboration with Jim Simpson, the series is directed by Nicole Greene and Mia Walker, along with the Flea’s resident directors.

In #serials@theflea, five teams of Bats perform original ten-minute episodic plays. The audience votes for its three favorite pieces, which return the next week with a new installment. The teams with the two least popular stories must likewise come back the following week, but with entirely different serialized plays.

The participating playwrights for the project include Lucy Alibar, Josh Barrett, Patrick Barrett, Randy Blair and Tim Drucker, Rachel Bonds, E.J.C. Calvert, Jonathan Caren, Joshua Conkel, Stacy Davidowitz, Dylan Dawson, Lila Feinberg, Halley Feiffer, Edith Freni, Jonathan Goldberg, Joshua Elias Harmon, Jessica S. Hinds, Nick Jones, Boo Killebrew, JC Lee, Eric John Meyer, Michael Mitnick, Vickie Ramirez, David West Read, Sharyn Rothstein, Jordan Seavey, Crystal Skillman, Kevin Christopher Snipes, and Emily Chadick Weiss.

In addition to the episodic plays, the performances feature live music. Bands scheduled to appear during the third installment of #serials@theflea include Aunts&Uncles, Boy Girl Party, Grace McLean and Them Apples, Great Dog Almighty, The Harmonious Pimps of Harmony, HolidayHoliday, Nathan Leigh and the Travelling Salesmen, Teen Girl Scientist Monthly and The Vanguard.
