PHOTO FLASH: Sneak Peek at Transport Group’s Lysistrata Jones

The cast and creative team of Transport Group’s new Off-Broadway musical Lysistrata Jones presented a sneak peak for the press on Friday, May 6.

The musical, a loose adaptation of Aristophanes’ Lysistrata with a book by Tony Award nominee Douglas Carter Beane and music and lyrics by Lewis Flinn, tells the story of a group of cheerleaders from Athens University who begin withholding sex from their basketball player boyfriends until the team wins a game — which hasn’t happened in 30 years. The production is directed and choreographed by Dan Knechtges.

The cast features Patti Murin in the title role, Jason Tam, Liz Mikel, Alexander Aguilar, Katie Boren, Lindsay Chambers, Max Kumangai, Patti Murin, Kat Nejat, Josh Segarra, LaQuet Sharnell, Teddy Toye and Alex Wyse.

Previews begin Sunday, May 15 on the basketball court of the Judson Memorial Church Gymnasium, with an opening night set for Sunday, June 5.
