Patti LuPone, Susan Stroman, Lynne Taylor-Corbett, et al. Set for NYC Ballet’s 2010-2011 Season

The New York City Ballet (NYCB) has announced its 2010-2011 season, which will include a new work choreographed by Tony Award winner Susan Stroman, according to a report in The New York Times.

Also new to the company’s repertoire this season will be the previously announced production of Kurt Weill’s The Seven Deadly Sins, which will star Patti LuPone and be choreographed by Lynne Taylor-Corbett.

The NYCB season will begin in September when it offers its first full fall season, which will include 28 different ballets including 13 works by George Balanchine, five by Jerome Robbins, and a New York premiere from choreographer Benjamin Millepied, as well as Peter Martins’ staging of The Magic Flute. In addition, the company’s annual presentation of The Nutcracker will run November 26 – January 2.

The 2010-2011 schedule will also feature ballets by Melissa Barak, Mauro Bigonzetti, Wayne McGregor, Alexei Ratmansky and Christopher Wheeldon and a full-length staging of Tchaikovsky’s Swan Lake by Martins.
