Nina Arianda, Bill Heck, Stephen McKinley Henderson, Helen Stenborg to Receive Equity Awards

Nina Arianda, Bill Heck, Stephen McKinley Henderson, and Helen Stenborg have been named the recipients of Actors’ Equity Foundation’s annual awards, which will be presented at the organization’s Eastern Regional Board meeting on June 8.

The Richard Seff Award, which honors a veteran female and male character actor for the best performance in a supporting role in a Broadway or Off-Broadway production, comes with a $1,000 check and crystal trophy for each. Stenborg was cited for her performance in the Off-Broadway play, Vigil, while Henderson is receiving his for the Broadway revival of August Wilson’s Fences.

The Clarence Derwent Award is for most promising female and male performers on the New York metropolitan scene. Arianda is being recognized for Venus in Fur, while Heck is being awarded for his performance in The Orphans’ Home Cycle.

The Judges’ Panel includes: Joe Dziemianowicz, Daily News; Adam Feldman, Time Out NY; Susan Haskins, Theater Talk; Harry Haun, Playbill; Michael Kuchwara, Associated Press; and David Rosenberg, Back Stage.
