Baranski, Busch, Ebersole, LuPone, et al. to Present Drama League Awards

The Drama League has announced its roster of presenters for the The 74th Annual Drama League Awards Ceremony and Luncheon on Friday, May 16 at the Marriott Marquis Hotel, to be hosted by Harvey Fierstein.

Christine Ebersole will present the Distinguished Performance Award, Patti LuPone will present the award for Distinguished Production of a Musical, Christine Baranski will present the award for Distinguished Production of a Play, Sierra Boggess and James Snyder will present the award for Distinguished Revival of a Musical, and Charles Busch will present the award for Distinguished Revival of a Play.

For The Drama League’s three annual specialty awards, producer Roger Berlind will present the award for Distinguished Achievement in Musical Theatre to conductor Paul Gemignani, former BAM Executive Director Harvey Lichtenstein will present the award for Unique Contribution to the Theatre to La MaMa E.T.C. founder Ellen Stewart, and Lincoln Center Theatre Artistic Director Andre Bishop will present the Julia Hansen Award for Excellence in Directing to Bartlett Sher, who is currently helming that theater’s revival of South Pacific.

This year’s honorary co-chairs are actors Bobby Cannavale, Laurence Fishburne, Peter Gallagher, Terrence Howard, Cheyenne Jackson, Laura Linney, S. Epatha Merkerson, Rosie Perez, Martha Plimpton, and Patrick Stewart.
