Actress Oni Faida Lampley Dies of Cancer

Actress Oni Faida Lampley died Monday, April 28 of breast cancer, according to The Hartford Courant. She had recently left the Long Wharf Theatre production of The Bluest Eye to have emergency brain surgery as the cancer had metastasized, according to the newspaper.

Lampley’s stage credits include the Broadway productions of Mule Bone and The Ride Down Mt. Morgan and the Off-Broadway productions of The Dark Kalamazoo, Mud, River, Stone, Zooman and the Sign, and The Destiny of Me. She guest-starred on numerous television series including Law & Order, The Sopranos, Third Watch, and Oz.

According to The Courant, she is survived by a husband and two sons.
