Cassidy, Jackson, Kelly, Kind Set for Reprise’s Superman

Patrick Cassidy, Cheyenne Jackson, Jean Louisa Kelly, and Richard Kind will star in the Reprise! Marvelous Musical Mondays production of It’s a Bird…It’s a Plane…It’s Superman on Monday, May 14 at 8pm at the Freud Playhouse at UCLA. The show will be directed by Stuart Ross, with musical direction by Georgia Stitt.

The musical has a book by David Newman and Robert Benton (based on the comic strip “Superman”), music by Charles Strouse, and lyrics by Lee Adams. Strouse will narrate the performance.

It’s a Bird…It’s a Plane…It’s Superman concerns a reporter who is out to uncover Superman’s identity, while another girl is trying to steal the superhero away from Lois Lane and a mad scientist is trying to take over the world. What is Superman to do?

The original 1966 Broadway production starred Cassidy’s father, Jack Cassidy, along with Don Chastain, Bob Holliday, and Linda Lavin.
