Kate Reinders Will Be Wicked‘s New Glinda

Kate Reinders will join the Broadway cast of Wicked in the role of Glinda on May 30. She will replace Megan Hilty.

Reinders played Glinda in the show’s Chicago production. She was most recently seen on Broadway as Caroline in Good Vibrations. Her other Broadway credits include Gypsy, The Adventures of Tom Sawyer, and the revival of Into the Woods. She also appeared in the national tour of The Sound of Music and in regional productions of A Year With Frog and Toad and Hair.

The current cast of Wicked includes Eden Espinosa (Elphaba), David Garrison (the Wizard), Carol Kane (Madame Morrible), Derrick Williams (Fiyero), Jenna Leigh Green (Nessarose), Sean McCourt (Dr. Dillamond), and Robb Sapp (Boq). The show has a book by Winnie Holzman, based on the novel by Gregory Maguire, and a score by Stephen Schwartz. It opened in October 2003 and won Tony Awards for original star Idina Menzel, set designer Eugene Lee, and costume designer Susan Hilferty.
