Harriet Harris Joins Cast of Cape Playhouse’s The Dining Room

Harriet Harris, who plays Felicia Tillman on the hit TV series Desperate Housewives, will star in the Cape Playhouse’s upcoming production of A.R. Gurney’s The Dining Room, July 4-16. Brian Murray and MAD TV stars Stephanie Weir and Michael McDonald will co-star in the production, under the direction of James Brennan.

Harris won a Tony Award as Best Featured Actress in a Musical for her performance as Mrs. Meers in Thoroughly Modern Millie. Her other stage credits include the original Off-Broadway production of Jeffrey and the Roundabout Theatre Company’s revival of The Man Who Came to Dinner, in which she played opposite Nathan Lane. She was also seen on TV as agent Bebe Glazer on Frasier.

The Cape Playhouse’s summer season will begin on June 20 with André DeShields in Ambassador Satch: The Life and Music of Louis Armstrong. It will continue with productions of No, No, Nanette (starring Rebecca Luker and George Dvorsky), Ain’t Misbehavin’, Around the World in Eighty Days, and the comedy Don’t Dress For Dinner (starring Dee Hoty, Michael Rupert, and Kevin Spirtas).
