Tade Biesinger to Join Broadway’s Billy Elliot in Title Role

Tade Biesinger will join the Broadway company of Billy Elliot the Musical, playing at the Imperial Theatre, on Wednesday, April 13. He replaces Alex Ko, who will play his final performance on May 15.

Biesinger has trained at Dance Impressions, Bountiful, Utah and Ballet West Academy, Salt Lake City, Utah. Among his stage credits are Ballet West’s Nutcracker and Madame Butterfly.

Based on the 2000 film of the same name, the show tells the tale of a young boy with a dream of being a dancer. The musical features music by Elton John, book and lyrics by Lee Hall, direction by Stephen Daldry, and choreography by Peter Darling.

Biesinger will rotate in the title role with Peter Mazurowski, Jacob Clemente, and Joseph Harrington. The company also features Emily Skinner (Mrs. Wilkinson), Gregory Jbara (Dad), Carole Shelley (Grandma) and Will Chase (Tony), along with Neil McCaffrey and Cameron Clifford, who alternate the role of Billy’s friend, Michael.
